History of St. Dominic de Guzman Parish Church

The old site of the church, a chapel then was believed to have been put up before the second world war.

Priests coming from the Tuguegarao Cathedral alternately took turns in catering to the spiritual and sacramental needs of the christian community of Cataggaman.

It was known that the late Fr. Remudaro opted to stay during the war at a simple hut adjacent to the Cataggaman chapel.

Fr. Remudaro was followed after by priests such as Fr. Quinto, Fr. Catral, Fr. Villena(now bishop of Bayombong), (former priest)Fr. Catabui, Fr. Herrera, Fr. Mamauag until Fr. John's term and the like catered through the generations as shepherds in their own time.

It was the late Fr. John Iringan(Pastor of St. Dominic, Cataggaman from 1987 to 1993) who initiated the simple and low-cost rectory/convent of Cataggaman parish. For the old site of the old church then nears the river bank of Cataggaman Nuevo.(now being eaten up by the river itself) The late Fr. John, was very instrumental for the negotiation of the present site of the Church of St. Dominic at Cataggaman.
